KissBook charges your park a booking fee of $3.00 (GST included) for every booking created in the platform. This guide explains when the fee applies and how it is collected. Go to Accounts > Booking Fees to see the fees that are invoiced to you.
When the fee applies
- There is one fee for every booking. It is owed from the moment the booking is created, not when it is paid and not at check-in.
- It applies whatever the booking’s status (including Blocked and Cancelled), whatever the payment method, and whether the guest or your staff created the booking.
- It applies whether or not the guest has paid.
- Changing the status later, including to Cancelled, does not remove the fee.
- If a guest cancels or changes a booking, the fee is not refunded. You can refund the guest under your own cancellation policy, but the fee stays.
- Demo parks pay no booking fee. A demo park is for trying KissBook and cannot take real bookings or card payments (Terms of Service section 4A).
How the fee is collected
- Online payments (the guest pays by card): the fee is added to the guest’s total at checkout and collected separately from your payment. You receive the guest’s payment minus Stripe’s processing fees. These processing fees are your park’s cost.
- Custom payments (the guest pays you by cash, bank transfer or another method outside checkout): the fee is not collected at checkout. It is invoiced to your park.
- Unpaid bookings: if a booking has not been paid, the guest owes your park and the fee is still owed by your park. It is invoiced for the month the booking was created.
Booking fee on long-term tenancies
- The fee applies to each billing cycle payment (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), not once per tenancy.
- It continues until the tenancy is formally ended in KissBook, including open-ended tenancies.
- If a tenancy ends part-way through a cycle, the fee is still owed for any cycle in which rent was collected or became due.
Your Booking Fees page
- It shows a running tally for the Current Month and a line for each of the last twelve months, with either “No Fees”, the amount, or the invoice once one exists.
- Select a month to open its statement: every booking fee for that month, with the date, booking number, fee and payment type. Filter by payment type, and tick or untick booking statuses to change the total shown.
- Only fees that are not collected at checkout are listed. Fees collected from guests by card are not on your statements.
- Go to Accounts > Payments > Booking Fees for the list of custom payments that carried a fee, newest first, with a running total.
Booking fee invoices
- Fees that were not collected at checkout are invoiced once a month, early in the month, for the month before.
- Each invoice is due within 14 days of the invoice date. You can find your invoices from the month lines on your Booking Fees page, and on the Invoices page. Go to Accounts > Invoices.
- An invoice covers the bookings created in that month. If a custom payment arrives later for an older booking, the invoice shows it for information and it is not billed again.
- If you think an invoice has an error, tell KissBook in writing within 14 days of the invoice date. You still pay the invoice in full while it is checked. If it was wrong, you get a credit note.
- Overdue invoices can lead to interest and restricted access to the platform. The Terms of Service set this out.
